I recently stayed at Fig Tree Villa in a party of 9 adults.  There was plenty of space both inside and in the garden with lots of seating areas and sunbeds near the pool and a large BBQ for eating outside in the shaded area under the pergola. It was more than enough space so we never felt crowded, very comfortable for all of us.

The place was well equipped and clean and owner’s associate Sebina, was on hand to help us with any queries about the house or the area.

The owner Yvette has provided lots of guide books and information which were very useful so we didn’t need much help from Sebina.  We did hire one car but we didn’t really use it that much, sometimes some of us went off exploring to Limassol or Ayia Napa for a day but really we were content to lounge around and relax by the pool all day and then walk down to the nearest bar or restaurant in Kiti village in the evening for a meal and a drink.  Tamala Bar/Restaurant next to the old church is only 5-10 mins walk down the road via a shortcut and does a great breakfast which we loved and we ate there quite a few times as it was really cheap with huge portions and very well-priced beer and wine. Just around the corner from Tamala Bar is a lovely Cypriot restaurant called the Landmark with a nice courtyard to eat in. Jacksons Bar in the village square is next to this and was great too with lots of tables outside to eat at.  There are lots of nice shops and cafes in the village too, so it’s nice to walk around there in the daytime and the church is quite famous so worth a visit too.  There’s a big supermarket with everything you need just a short walk away, but if you want more there’s a big Lidl a few miles away – recommended to take a car to visit.  You do really need a car or taxi to get to the beaches, Mackenzie Beach is a 10-minute drive away and is very lively day and night with all the trendy bars and restaurants, very popular with the Cypriots and some tourists who know about it.

We explored the island of Cyprus, which is lovely, but to be honest we were quite happy most of the days just to just relax with our friends by our own private pool and fire up the BBQ when we got hungry or get the food delivered, which was very cheap.

A very relaxing holiday overall, Yvette’s villa is really nice and we had a great time!
